As this position is based in India and you will be required to communicate with the team and customers based in Australia and therefore hours of working need to be closely aligned with Melbourne time zone.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an operations engineer with experience in monitoring and event management (as defined in ITIL v4) offering technical expertise to solve problems of medium to high complexity.

The core activities of the position are:

· Availability, Performance, and Capacity management: Provide root cause analysis, troubleshooting investigation, and knowledge base article development based on the event management platform to ensure preventative measures to ensure zero business impact · Management of all services (including resolution of all allocated tasks and tickets) within the service level and operational level targets

Functional Responsibilities - What you will be doing

The service outcome expectation outlined below is based on ITIL v4 include:

· Monitoring and event management

· Availability, Capacity, performance, and Service continuity management

· Incident, Problem, and Service request management

· Release & change enablement, service validation / testing, and service configuration management

· Backup management: ensure backups are valid and running as planned with scheduled test/restore

· Manage all tickets as per standard processes at Byte based on ITIL framework

Experience in troubleshooting various components of infrastructure
· Root cause analysis of recuring issues to create a proactive prevention of problems.

· Available to work on rotational shifts to ensure 24*7 coverage.

Key Accountabilities - what you will be measured on

Accountabilities will include:

· Management of all services within the service level and operational level targets

· Root Cause Analysis for every Problem tickets

· Full Adherence to Byte Operational Processes – Event Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Patch Management, Backup management.

Technical Capabilities – skills/ experience you will need to have

Essential

· ITIL Foundation certificate

· Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related discipline

· Experience with Windows and Linux Server environment

· Experience with Network devices infrastructure

· Experience with Microsoft cloud environment (Azure)

· Experience with Microsoft SCCM, WSUS,

· Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V

· Experience with Backup Management (i.e. Veeam, Azure Backup and Avamar).

Highly desirable

· Certification in Azure Cloud

· MCSA or MCSE in Windows Server Technologies

· VMWare Certified Professional

Job Details

Work type: Hybrid work model but will need to attend the office at least 3 days a week.

Work location: Chennai and needs to reside in Chennai.

Work timings: 7.6hrs a day with some reasonable additional overtime as expected.

Official Working Days: Monday to Friday

Official Work time: IST 9am to 5pm.

Public Holidays: Indian calendar-based holidays.

Notice Period to join: Immediate / 15 Days / 1 Month

Salary: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
