Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Refineries

The Chemical industry comprises the companies that produce industrial chemicals. Central to the modern world economy, it converts raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, and minerals) into more than 70,000 different products. Chemicals are used in many different consumer goods, and are also used in many different sectors. This includes agriculture manufacturing, construction, and service industries. Major industrial customers include rubber and plastic products, textiles, apparel, petroleum refining, pulp and paper, and primary metals.

Oil and Gas are major industries in the energy market and play an influential role in the global economy as the worlds primary fuel sources. The processes and systems involved in producing and distributing oil and gas are highly complex, capitalintensive, and requires stateof the art technology.

Refineries are industrial plants that transforms, or refines crude oil into various usable petroleum products such as diesel, gasoline and heating oils. Oil refineries essentially serve as the second stage in the crude oil production process following the actual extraction of crude oil up-stream, and refinery services are considered to be a down-stream segment of the oil and gas industry.
