GENERAL PURPOSE



University of the People, the worlds first tuition-free, online American university, is looking for experienced, strategic, hands-on marketing automation team leader with a passion for marketing technology and user journeys to join our growing marketing automation team.



Role Description



You will be leading the university marketing automation platforms and work closely with various teams throughout the organization on translating business needs into strategies, creations, and optimization of users journeys.

 

The main focus of the position is leading the MA team in building an extensive high-quality automation infrastructure for scaling, continuously raising the quality of our product and automation campaigns and programs, owning/governing Marketo platform, and ensuring the system is running at peak performance.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES



Lead, mentor, and empower a team that owns the marketing automation stack

Own end-to-end marketing automation campaigns, journeys, and templates, from strategy through implementation to reporting and optimization

Optimize and develop marketing operations programs, including segmentation, scoring, attribution, etc

Establish strong communication channels between marketing operations, website owners, content and design teams, and IT

Build consumer journeys and touchpoints across the users lifecycle to maximize conversions, engagement, and retention.

Continually optimize campaigns KPIs and metrics through A/B testing, hyper-personalization, and other data-driven decisions.

Ensure the university marketing automation tech stack and processes are continually evaluated for improved efficiency and effectiveness

Solve technical problems and understand the relationship between Marketo DB, the CRM, and the rest of the martech suite.



QUALIFICATIONS



Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years of management experience

Hands-on experience with Marketo (or similar), CRM, and reporting tools. Previous admin role expected

Strong end-to-end project management skills and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication (English)

Experience with content/design development using HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, etc

Expert campaign management, workflows, integrations, and knowledge of data architecture

Experience managing teams
